Visibility and control of utility assets is critical to operational efficiency and safety. This webinar will discuss various scenarios illustrating how Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) can benefit utilities by providing better asset visibility and control. Examples will include accurate tracking of power system inventory and spares, increased field force productivity, reduction in repair times, network inventory and spares management, auditing, tracking of personnel to increase safety, advanced access controls and subcontractor management. A comparison of various RFID technologies will be provided. The seminar will discuss not only the core components of an RFID solution, but also the value of integrating RFID with other systems such as inventory management, mobile workforce management, ERP applications and security systems.
