Webinar: A Framework for Architecting Smart Grid Communication Networks

Join us on 06/15/2011 from 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Many utilities are in the planning and piloting stages of rolling out Smart Grid projects. A fundamental element of any successful Smart Grid project is the communication strategy which will be comprised of multiple technologies and include both public and private networks. Developing a communications strategy for the Smart Grid can be a daunting task when one considers the broad range of applications that encompass a Smart Grid. This webinar will present a framework for utilities to use in developing a communications strategy and selecting the right technologies for Smart Grid communications that meets current and future criteria including reliability, performance, security, coverage, scalability, manageability and economics. Tropos Networks will highlight several Smart Grid customers and their approach to communications.

UTC will present finding from the study on Smart Grid communications conducted last year and share their perspective on the future of Smart Grid communications and how federal and state regulatory bodies are evaluating the communications plans of utilities deploying the Smart Grid.
