We are pleased to announce that Santee Cooper will host the UTC Region 3 Spring 2012 meeting in Hilton Head Island, SC from February 29th to March 1th. Please make your reservations as soon as possible to assure your attendance at this event. The facility for the meeting will be the Hilton Head Marriott Resort & Spa located at One Hotel Circle, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928.

Special rates have been established for the UTC Region 3 group. They are: $129 for Island View ( Group Code “utcutca”), $139.00 for Ocean View (Group Code “utcutcb”), $159.00 for Ocean Front (Group Code “utcutcc”), and $159.00 for Vice Presidential. In addition, these discounted rates are available to UTC Region 3 participants for up to three days prior to and three days after this UTC Region 3 meeting. All rates are for single or double occupancy and are available by calling 1-888-511-5086. When making your reservations, please request the UTC Region 3 group rate. These special rates are only valid for reservations made by January 30, 2012. \

• The closest airport is Savannah Hilton Head International (SAV) which is approximately 45 miles away but has limited flights. Charleston International (CHS) is another option and is approximately 100 miles away but offers more flight options.
• Transportation between Savannah Hilton Head International Airport and the hotel - There are several options for ground transportation including rental cars and taxis. K-Shuttle is one service that is $45.00 one way/ $80 round-trip per person and can be arranged by calling 1-877-243-2050 or visiting their website http://www.kshuttle.com/.
• Transportation between Charleston International and the hotel will typically be by rental car.
• Hotel Rate includes complimentary high speed internet access. The UTC Regulatory Update and Business meeting will be held on Wednesday afternoon, February 29th and the technical presentation session will follow on Thursday, March 1st. Members and vendors are encouraged to participate in the technical sessions by suggesting appropriate topics or speakers to Todd Oney at the address below. A SERC Telecom subcommittee closed session meeting will be held on Friday morning, March 2nd.   \

The Vendor Exhibition will be held on Wednesday evening, February 29th from 4:30-8:00 PM. This will feature heavy hors d’oeuvres and beverages as well as fellowship with UTC members, vendors, and guests. A wide variety of vendors will be present to show off their latest wares of interest to UTC members. Last and certainly not least, there will be drawings for some great door prizes given away at the end of the evening (You must be present to win. Please bring a business card to Registration to participate in the drawings. Only core member attendees are eligible to participate).

Who Should Attend: Sessions are relevant for managers of IT and telecom, wireless and transport engineers and technicians, and networking professionals from utility and energy companies, as well as representatives from technology and service providers.

Future Meetings: Please make note of these planned upcoming meetings Fall 2012– MLGW will host in Memphis, TN. at the Memphis Marriott East Hotel. Spring 2013–Gainesville Regional Utilities will host with location to be determined
