We are pleased to announce that PowerSouth Energy Cooperative will host the UTC Region 3 Spring 2010 meeting in Orange Beach, Alabama on March 3-4. Please make your reservations as soon as possible to assure your attendance at this event. • Singles or double rooms are available by calling (800) 634-8001 or (251) 981-9811. The special UTC rate is $139 per night. Other room types are available for additional fees by request. Make reservations using Booking ID# 6396. Reservations must be made by February 2, 2010.
• Hotel rate includes complimentary high speed wireless internet access and free local phone calls.
• The closest airports are Pensacola, FL. and Mobile, AL. Driving directions are attached.
• Transportation between Airport and hotel – The hotel doesn’t offer a shuttle service. Rental cars or taxi service is available. Taxi fees run approximately $75 one-way

The UTC Regulatory Update and Business meeting will be held on Wednesday afternoon, March 3rd and the technical presentation session will follow on Thursday, March 4th. Members and vendors are encouraged to participate in the technical sessions by suggesting appropriate topics or speakers to Keith Porterfield at the address below. A SERC Telecom subcommittee closed session meeting will be held on Friday morning March 5th.  View complete program here.

Kim Baine, of Phillips Communications & Equipment Co. will be handling vendor registration for the vendor expo. You may contact Kim at (434) 985-3600 or via e-mail at kbaine@pc-e.net beginning January 1, 2010. Members are encouraged to refer potential vendor participants to contact Kim or direct them to the UTC website at www.utc.org. Helpful information for vendors will be attached in future e-mails in a separate file.

The Vendor Exhibition will be held on Wednesday evening, March 3rd from 4:30-8:00 PM. This will feature heavy hors d’oeuvres and beverages as well as fellowship with UTC members, vendors, and guests. A wide variety of vendors will be present to show off their latest wares of interest to UTC members. There will be drawings for some great door prizes given away at the end of the evening (You must be present to win. Please bring a business card to registration to participate in the drawings).

Conference Registration: $30 per attendee for members and (Cash or check only). Checks should be made payable to UTC Region 3. There is no pre-registration required for members. Vendors must pre-register with Kim Baine at (434) 985-3600, FAX (434) 985-2006.

Who Should Attend: Sessions are relevant for managers of IT and telecom, wireless and transport engineers and technicians, and networking professionals from utility and energy companies, as well as representatives from technology and service providers.
