We are pleased to announce that Nashville Electric Service will host the UTC Region 3 Fall 2009 meeting in Nashville, TN. from Sept.30 to Oct. 1. Please make your reservations as soon as possible to assure your attendance at this event. The facility for the meeting will be the Marriott Nashville Airport Hotel located at 600 Marriott Drive, Nashville, TN, 37214. 

• A special rate of $149 (single or double) is available by calling (800) 770-0555 or (615) 889-9300 and requesting the UTC Region 3 group rate. This special rate is only valid for reservations made by Tuesday, September 08, 2009.
• The closest airport is Nashville International Airport. It is served by most major airlines and the hotel is near the Airport.
• Transportation between Nashville Airport and the hotel - There are several options for ground transportation including rental cars and taxis. However, Marriott has a complimentary shuttle on request. The estimated cab rate is $15.00 one-way, with Allied Cab on request.
• Hotel Rate includes the wired for business package with complimentary high speed internet access and free local & long distance phone calls.

The UTC Regulatory Update and Business meeting will be held on Wednesday afternoon, September 30th and the technical presentation session will follow on Thursday, October 1st. Members and vendors are encouraged to participate in the technical sessions by suggesting appropriate topics or speakers to Keith Porterfield at the address below. A SERC Telecom subcommittee closed session meeting will be held on Friday morning October 2nd.

Members are encouraged to refer potential vendor participants to contact Kim or direct them to the UTC website at www.utc.org. Helpful information for vendors will be attached in future e-mails in a separate file.

The Vendor Exhibition will be held on Wednesday evening, September 30th from 4:30-8:00 PM. This will feature heavy hors d’oeuvres and beverages as well as fellowship with UTC members, vendors, and guests. A wide variety of vendors will be present to show off their latest wares of interest to UTC members. Last and certainly not least, there will be drawings for some great door prizes given away at the end of the evening (You must be present to win. Please bring a business card to registration to participate in the drawings).

Who Should Attend: Sessions are relevant for managers of IT and telecom, wireless and transport engineers and technicians, and networking professionals from utility and energy companies, as well as representatives from technology and service providers.
