MCUTC Six State Region
MCUTC is composed of member utility (gas, water, electric, and others) companies in the mid-central region of the United States. These members are located in the states of Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. MCUTC is a non-profit regional division of the national organization, Utilities Telecom Council, which is abbreviated UTC, http://www.utc.org [1].
What we do
UTC and MCUTC’s mission is to keep members informed on the latest and proposed Federal government regulations on the operation of privately owned communications systems This includes the FCC and FAA administrations. UTC also lobbies these administrations and the U. S Congress for regulations and legislation favorable to members to allow continued use of private communications systems vital to the operations of our members.
In, addition UTC conducts seminars and provides consulting services for members on all aspects of regulatory compliance, licensing and registration requirements. UTC provides members with guidance on entering the communications field and offering services to other communications carriers or to the general public. UTC is a forum for members to voice their individual concerns on current or proposed regulations. UTC staff support their members on all aspects of regulatory requirements and help members interpret and comply with all applicable governmental regulations.
UTC and MCUTC provide members with valuable information and a future view of the communications industry, spectrum issues, auctions and all other aspects of regulation from the Federal Government.
MCUTC seeks to educate and represent its regional member organizations on all telecommunications developments, which could have an impact on their operations, and to enhance the professional growth of its member organizations' representatives. UTC (with assistance from MCUTC and other regional members) advises and assists the Federal Communications Commission, http://www.fcc.gov [2], in development of radio spectrum issues to the best interests of the regional members. MCUTC is involved in the national organization, UTC, to the extent and in the manner deemed desirable by the regional membership.
A UTC membership (which includes membership in MCUTC) is a valuable aid for members to continue to operate private communications systems.
