We are pleased to announce that SCANA will host the Spring 2008 UTC Southeast Region meeting on March 5-6, 2008 in Columbia, S.C. Please make your reservations as soon as possible to assure your attendance at this event.

The facility for the meeting will be the Marriott Columbia at 1200 Hampton Street, Columbia, S.C. 29201. A special rate of $169 (single or double) is available by calling (800) 228-9290 or (803) 771-7000 and requesting the UTC group rate. This special rate is only valid for reservations made by February 3, 2008.

The UTC Regulatory Update and Business meeting will be held on Wednesday afternoon, March 5 and the technical presentation session will follow on Thursday, March 6. Members and vendors are encouraged to participate in the technical sessions by suggesting appropriate topics or speakers to Ed Ingersoll at the address below. A SERC closed session meeting will be held on Friday morning March 7.

The Vendor Exhibition will be held on Wednesday evening, March 5 from 4:30-8:00PM. This will feature heavy hors d’oeuvres and beverages as well as fellowship with UTC members, vendors, and guests. A wide variety of vendors will be present to show off their latest wares of interest to UTC members. Last and certainly not least, there will be drawings for some great door prizes given away at the end of the evening (You must be present to win. Please bring a business card to registration to participate in the drawings).

Conference Registration: $30 per attendee for members and vendors (Cash or check only). Checks should be made payable to UTC Region 3. Vendors may pre-register with Jan Mirra at (434) 985-3600.

Who Should Attend: Sessions are relevant for managers of IT and telecom, wireless and transport engineers and technicians, and networking professionals from utility and energy companies, as well as representatives from technology and service providers.
