Training provided by:

Criteria required for installing, terminating, inspecting, testing, and maintaining fiber optic communication systems. The two-day course provides the knowledge and skills that a fiber optic technician requires to work with and around fiber optic communication systems.

Day 1 - Monday, May 9, is eight hours of classroom content that focuses on fiber theory, optical fibers, cables, termination, and installation methods. It also includes testing and troubleshooting content and processes.

Day 2 - Tuesday, May 10, is eight hours of hands-on skills exercises with stations where cable preparation, splicing, connector termination, OTDR testing, and optical loss testing are performed and documented to show proof of performance for the UTC FOP Level 1 certification requirements.

Target Audience: Supervisors, Installers, Splicers, and Technicians.
